Excelerator Diploma Examination Preparation
Castle Rock Research Corporation is offering online, synchronous diploma preparation courses guiding students through proven study strategies to maximize performance on June 2024 diploma examinations. Battle River School Division is making Excelerator Diploma Preparation courses available to students at a reduced cost.
Excelerator Grade 6 and 9 Math PAT Examination Preparation
Castle Rock Research Corporation also offers a similar course for grade 6 and 9 students taking the Mathematics Provincial Achievement Test, and this course is 20 hours in length spread out over ten 2-hour sessions. This course is available to Battle River students at 66% off the regular price.

Diploma Courses Schedule- Top Alberta educators deliver each course using engaging online instruction leveraging SOLARO, Castle Rock Research's online learning and assessment resource. SOLARO includes all content included in both The Key and SNAP resources.
- Course instructors have diploma exam item development and/or diploma marking experience as well as years of classroom experience.
- Each diploma course is 20 hours in length spread over five sessions. The Grade 6 and 9 Math PAT courses are 20 hours in length spread over ten sessions.
- Courses include test-taking and time management strategies. Mathematics 30-1 and 30-2 courses include a section on graphing calculator strategies and usage.
- Students engage on their own devices, receive immediate feedback on practice tests and have ample opportunity to ask questions to clarify concepts.
- Each course will cover the content and skills outlined in the Alberta Program of Studies; the time allocated to each topic will directly align with the diploma examination emphasis for each topic.
- Course instructors are able to determine individual student strengths and learning gaps with formative assessments, creating individualized learning plans for each student. Students are provided an overview of strengths and learning gaps through summative assessments at the end of each unit.

Diploma Exam Preparation Registration
Grade 6 and 9 Math PAT Preparation Registration
Technology Requirements: Each registered student will need to use a Google email that is not the same as their school email. Upon registration, the student will receive an email from their Excelerator course teacher (or teachers if enrolled in multiple courses) inviting them to the Google Classroom for that course. Each student needs access to a computer since the courses will be conducted online.
