Diploma Examination Preparation Program

Castle Rock Research Corporation is offering online, interactive diploma preparation courses guiding students through proven study strategies to maximize performance for diploma examinations.

Courses are offered in Mathematics 30-1, Mathematics 30-2, Chemistry 30, Biology 30, Physics 30, Science 30, English 30 and Social Studies 30.

  • Top Alberta educators deliver each course using engaging online instruction leveraging SOLARO, Castle Rock Research’s online learning and assessment resource. SOLARO includes all content included in both The Key and SNAP resources.

  • We strive to engage course instructors with diploma exam item development and/or diploma marking that also have years of classroom experience.

  • Courses include test-taking and time management strategies. Mathematics 30-1 and 30-2 courses include a section on graphing calculator strategies and usage.

  • Students engage on their own devices, receive immediate feedback on practice tests and have ample opportunity to ask questions to clarify concepts.

  • Each course will cover the content and skills outlined in the Alberta Program of Studies; the time allocated to each topic will directly align with the diploma examination emphasis for each topic.

  • Castle Rock Research developed a Table of Correlations for each course which documents diploma examination question emphasis. Course instructors will reference the Table of Correlations and SOLARO’s thousands of questions to provide students with immediate feedback.

  • Course instructors are able to determine individual student strengths and learning gaps with formative assessments, creating individualized learning plans for each student. Students are provided an overview of strengths and learning gaps through summative assessments at the end of each unit.
